Help -- I've linked the wrong EA/Origin account to Steam

I purchased BF6 through Steam to play on my PC. Apparently, when I purchased the game, at some point my Steam linked with my old EA/Origin account from when I had a PS4. I've been playing BF6 connected to this old account since launch. I was recently gifted some BF tokens and I went to redeem them, thinking that I needed to link my new EA account with Steam instead of my old one.

I was wrong... In doing so, it started me from fresh. Lost all of my progression and now I can't reset the changes for 6 months... I need some help here. I'd really like to just re-link it to my previous account just to get my progression back.

    Thanks, yeah so Richik from Customer Support said I'm SOL and basically I won't be able to play BF6 for 6 months... This is the dumbest account policy imaginable... All because Apex players are exploiting some loophole..? You guys gotta figure out a better way to handle this or make some exceptions to help people who are literally just trying to merge old Playstation (EA) accounts with new PC (EA) accounts. This is absurd.
