Refund for games made uplayable by EA?

When I bought my games on the Origin platform, it was on the premise of being able to play them regardless of an internet connection (that is for instance why I waited with buying SimCity when it was released). This seems to not be possible with the new EA app? (Boy am I happy I've purchased most of my game on Steam). Is there any intention by EA to enable "offline" playing? If not, isn't EA obliged to refund all my games that they've rendered unplayable by removing/replacing the platform that I actually bought my games for, thus breaking the contract?
