every time i open origin it softlocks me into a window that suggests to install ea app. now i thought okay its forcing me to install this must be a good reason but no. i log in with the right account, got my games, my mods work and then i find out ea app doesnt allow me to invite friends to my games? and i thought okay, ig i deinstall this garbage and go back to origin, but when i logged myself in it tries to force me again to install the ea app. what kind of idea is it to force the switch when u said just a while ago that origin will still be usable but no u force me to install the app that disallows me from playing w my friends. i`m absolutely fed up with this. @EA_Darko You aren't listening. The reason everyone here wants to go back to Origin in the first place is because THE EA APP IS BROKEN. The EA App is, by its own admission, still a BETA project and it shows. It clearly isn't ready to replace Origin. A number of games linked to peoples accounts DO NOT WORK. I can't play Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order because I keep getting an error from the EA App saying a problem occurred on the launcher and to try it again later, but it never works! FIX THIS HORRIBLE APP, LET US USE ORIGIN AGAIN, or better still, GET RID OF YOUR DRM.

I tried uninstalling the crappy EA app and re-installing Origin (had it in my downloads folder still) without allowing it to update Origin.I could open Origin and launch a game without being forced into the non-functional new EA app.But launching the game, the game kept crashing and is completely unusable.I tried restarting the computer - DID NOT ALLOW ORIGIN TO UDPATE - and it still managed to push through the effing update forcing the install of the new EA app.I guess I'll check if EA games are usable again in a few months or so ☹️

I guess I'll check if EA games are usable again in a few months or so ☹️

Yeah, my friend just had the same issue. We couldn't fix it at all so he had to go with EA Launcher. It doesn't do it to me for some reason but it's probably only a matter of time. I tried it before and EA Launcher is AWFUL compared to the one we know and love. Hopefully they will let us continue using Origin as an option in the future. Seems like this started happening yesterday.
Frosty Mod Manager mods don't seem to function with EA Launcher, but they immediately start working with Origin, which is the biggest blow to the playerbase of some already dying games if they start forcing every user to use EA Launcher.

Least when you login you aren't forced to see this... I'm totally not happy. Not to mention I called twice and both people were very hard to understand as obviously they were not in the US, but they also didn't help me. In fact one person basically made me feel like helping me try and fix my problem with it was more than he felt like dealing with. I could tell by his hints, that he just wanted to get off the phone, as if helping me wasn't important.

As I said @puzzlezaddict as soon as I reinstall it forces the swap to EA App onto me and theres no way to bypass it.

It is actually possible to fix the frosty mod manager for EA App. I had the mods problem with GW2 but I managed toake it work yet couldnt play w my friend because EA App does not allow you to invite friends.

@TTVysnowzie My understanding is that if you keep the EA App installed, you can also reinstall and use Origin. (You just can't have both apps open at the same time.) At least, that's how it's been working for me for over two years, and that's true for many others as well; I haven't heard that this has changed in the last day or two.
