What helped me and will 100% help you too. Here's my story: I played BF6 during a free weekend on Steam, then bought it on EA six months later. This error just wouldn't leave me alone — I moved folders around, reinstalled the launcher, reinstalled the game, tried everything. In the end, here's what I did:
- Downloaded a good file manager — in my case, Everything.
- Searched by name (BF6 or the full game title — in your case it could be anything: Sims, FIFA, etc.).
- Every file that was created before today's date and matched the game name — I deleted it.
After that, the game launched instantly. The error disappeared the very same moment.
