EA App not recognizing PC Game Pass / EA Play

Hello, my EA Play entitlement through Xbox PC Game Pass is not syncing properly to my EA account.

The Issue:

  • My Xbox app confirms I have Game Pass and shows EA Play games as ready to install.
  • My EA app is logged in, and my Xbox account shows as "Linked" in the connections menu.
  • Despite this, the EA App treats me like a free user. It prompts me to purchase the game or buy a separate EA Play subscription.

I have already verified that the correct Xbox account is linked to this specific EA account. Any help in forcing the EA app to recognize my Game Pass sub would be appreciated!

  • Hi, thanks for reaching out.

Please note that the following Xbox Game Pass memberships do not include EA Play:

    • Xbox Game Pass Core
    • Xbox Game Pass Standard

If you have an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership and are playing on Windows for the first time, you need to connect your Xbox console account with your PC to access EA Play.

    1. Download the Xbox app on your PC and sign in using your Xbox console account.
    2. Launch a game from The Play List through the Xbox app on your PC to use the EA app going forward.

  • I am having the same issue. I have XBOX Game Pass Premium. I have linked my XBOX account to the EA account, and it shows as such, and displays XBOX friends list in the EA PC app. Yet, when I try to install any EA PC games that are available through Gamepass, like Battlefield 1, it takes my into the EA launcher app, but it treats it like I need to purchase the game. It does not allow me to download unless I buy! It looks just like this user, for whom you clearly have not looked at his provided screenshots before providing boilerplate language.

How do we get the EA Launcher App to understand that we have games as part of our Game Pass subscription that should be allowed to install instead of purchase?

If you have already confirmed that your subscription includes EA Play for PC and that the correct Xbox and EA accounts are linked, please contact the Support team. We can’t verify account status based on forum screenshots alone, and those checks can only be completed by Support.
