Automatic updates disabled but the game updates anyways
I disabled automatic updates but the game updated as soon as the app opened. I go offline but have to repeat that every time I open the app.

Still an issue. Still invasive and sketchy. And when you go offline to prevent/stop the update, you can't launch the game.
