Solved

BattleField 4 not launching.

I've recently downloaded BattleField 4 as part of the Xbox game pass service, but when I start the game on EA desktop or the Xbox app, it opens a dialogue box that, when accepted, reopens itself with the same question each time. Accepting it over and over does nothing. Is there anyway to fix this problem?

@EA_Jason Okay so I unchecked the Run As Administrator for all the executables in the installation folder and ran it again. It worked perfectly.

    Hi @thyuisie,

Could you share a screenshot of the dialogue box that keeps popping up?

Maybe it contains some clues as to what is going on.

    Hello,

I have the same issue. The game works fine without any of the DLCs installed but when I try launching the game with all DLCs, a User Account Control window pops up, asking me to allow the BF4 launcher to make changes.

Clicking yes won't do anything because after a few seconds later, the same window pops up. This is stuck on a loop until i press No on the UAC dialog box.

    Hello @fixion9,

In that case, can you try to run EA Desktop and BF4 as an administrator?

You can also try lowering your UAC settings to see if that helps:

Try lowering the User Access Control settings:

    1. Close the Origin client.
    2. Click the Windows button and type "UAC" in the search field.
    3. In the User Access Control window, click and hold the slide bar —slide it to the lowest setting available.
    4. Click Ok at the bottom of the window.
    5. Open the Origin client and try installing again (click Install on the game you want).

How about creating a new Windows administrator account, logging in with that account and then try again?

@fixion9 So you're saying that you managed to fix it but NOT running it as an administrator?

That's like the opposite of what I would usually recommend, but hey if it works it works :D

Thanks for letting me know and enjoy BF4!
  • @EA_Jason Would like to say that after trying a lot of things since I updated to the new EA, this is what solved for me as well, uncheck the "Run as Administrator". Thanks @fixion9
  • This is on the older side of time, I'm closing this thread to stop it from being necroed.

If you have any issues with Battlefield 4/EA app, please make a new topic about your problems and what kind of steps you have tried to solve them.
