Same here, I bought Battlefield V on Steam a year ago or so, I haven't played for months, some days ago I reinstalled it, tried to launch it and it gives me the same error message as gazler93, it seems EA app is defective and I can't run the game through Origin anymore as EA thought it was a great idea to force using an app that doesn't allow to play.
I have FIFA 22 on Steam too and have no problems launching it, I saw it figures as installed in EA app while Battlefield V not.
I tried all of the "solutions" I saw on the internet, youtube and forums and nothing worked, there are a lot of posts with the same problem both here and on Steam, and not only for Battlefield V, there are a lot of other games with the same error, nobody at EA told if they are working on it (they have only provided individual support her as I see, not a general solution, fix or patch) or gave any news about it, they are just letting time go by without doing or saying anything about it.
This post has 3 weeks now and no effective solution yet.

Hey @Ivynator98,
Is it possible that you own the game on multiple platforms, or previously played the game via EA Play for Origin/EA app by any chance?- 2 years ago
Hi @EA_Leeuw, I'm not sure if I played it from EA Access about 2 years ago, how can I check it? But it's weird that this problem is caused by that if I played it later after buying it on Steam.
EDIT: Ok, I can confirm I paid EA Play on 08/07/21 and 08/08/21, and it's possible I played BFV.

@Ivynator98, thanks for the info. In that case, could you maybe try to reach out to the Live Support team and check with them if they can see if your expired Battlefield V EA Play (previously called EA Access) entitlements have been correctly disabled (or better deleted) from your account when your EA Play expired? It could be that this is now trying to override your Steam version of the game and therefore blocking the game from launching correctly.
