Anyone unable to download the game on the EA app try downloading through Origins. This let me download it and now launch it from the EA app. I also deleted all BF 2042 files I had downloaded on my PC.

I have noticed that when it was purchased through a third party retailer, that you can only download and install the game through Origin and not via the EA app.
This is something that I have passed on to the team to be investigated, but for now the only solution is to play through Origin.
So in short: Let me know where you purchased it and I'll look into it.
i have exact same issue in 2024 using a 4080 and a 1070 on a 5900 32 gig ram. and all people do is tell me to clear cache, use app recovery restart machine, never works. i paid 2 times with 2 different codes and yet no one helps, trying again through the terrible hard to get suport and have gone via email as people on app seem very stupid. or lack understanding of my language in english. either way its a aful experience ea.
yes i got code through third party cd keys first time and another second time yes im in uk and first code was uk second code was global, yes i only did it on the new ea app and finally i have recorded the second key as i wanted proof that ea app accepted the key. and yes i bought key with the duiirect implication it was done on the ea app and not origin. edither way why do i now have battlefield 2040 on my games list that you accepted but failes to download? thats not third party fault when you accept code? or am i missing something here?
