Can’t launch my game They Are Billions via EA App

Hello,

I'm experiencing an issue when trying to launch "They Are Billions" through the EA App.

Each time I click "Play", I get this error:

"The game could not be launched due to an error on our end."

I originally purchased the game on Origin, and it is correctly listed in both:

My EA App library
My purchase history

However, since the migration from Origin to EA App, the game no longer launches.

Here's what I’ve tried:
Cleared EA App cache
Reinstalled the game
Launched the .exe directly as administrator
Checked permissions and install path
Verified firewall/antivirus settings
Fully uninstalled and reinstalled EA App (including deleting all EA-related folders from AppData and ProgramData)
Made sure I'm logged into the correct EA account

None of these resolved the issue.

Support problem:

I attempted to open a support case, and one was created. However:

When I click on “Resume Case”, it just redirects me to troubleshooting articles
I’m unable to upload files, continue the conversation, or reach a support agent
The ticket seems stuck, and I’ve been warned it will close automatically unless I take action — which I can’t

Could this be a licensing issue caused by the Origin → EA App migration?

I would appreciate any assistance, or for this case to be escalated to someone who can manually verify the license on my account.

    I have the same problem... I have the game with EA Play Pro and it is impossible to launch it. 😟

  • Troubleshooting Steps Tried

    I’ve already attempted the following without success:

    Cleared EA App cache

    Reinstalled the game

    Launched the .exe directly as administrator

    Verified install path and permissions

    Checked firewall and antivirus settings

    Completely uninstalled and reinstalled the EA App (including deletion of AppData and ProgramData folders)

    Confirmed I’m logged into the correct EA account

    Despite these efforts, the issue persists.

    Support Case Issue

    I attempted to open a support ticket, and a case was created. However:

    Clicking “Resume Case” only redirects me to generic troubleshooting articles

    I cannot upload files or message an agent

    The ticket appears stuck and is at risk of auto-closing

    Possible Cause

    This might be a licensing synchronization issue related to the Origin → EA App migration, as the license may not be correctly mapped to my EA App profile.

    Same issue here, Windows 10 on the latest version. I opened a ticket, haven't heard anything back.

    Apparently EA simply does not give a **bleep**.

    YUP been a gamer since the 80's i can testify to that! theyd ont give a **bleep** about supporting ANY of their products...that said, check your system logs for a .net4 error when launching the game. That appears to be issue for me so hope that leads to fix!

  • appears to be a .net4 issue check windows app logs. then try to uninstall and reinstall any of the older dos based games they may reinstall .net4  and fix error....GOOD LUCK AND LET THE REST OF US KNOW IF THIS WORKS.   Dont want to be putting out bad juju . As far as i know his is root cause!

    im having this same issue and i cant play this game.. **bleep** ea sucks balls frfr

  • No idea why i repaired it and stuff restart pc and doesent help. Plz fix it can't be that hard game hasnt got updates for few years

  • Same problem over here, im working on it since 5h till i found in the logs:

    I tried to delete logs, ZXGame.cfg, Game.cfg and repair again, uninstall, install, everything or made a new USER profile and installation. NOTHING WORKS
