  • @Zolthy were you also having issues on origin before with titanfall 2 installation? I'm asking because after having issues on origin i switched to desktop app but it also has issues
  • Try unistall Ea desktop restart your pc then try again you will have to install your games again but the error should go away

  • Found this little nugget in the installlog.txt while downloading Titanfall 2

"09:27:22 Setting up uninstall data ...
    09:27:22 ERROR: Failed to copy C:\Program Files\EA Games\Titanfall2\__Installer\Cleanup.exe to C:\Program Files\Common Files\EAInstaller\Titanfall2\Cleanup.exe.
09:27:22 Failed to install cleanup program
09:27:22 Installer finished with exit code: 2
    09:27:22 Shutting down data reader."

I manually copied the cleanup.exe and cleanup.dat in to the folder it attempted to copy it into. Looks to be an access issue with windows. EA desktop isn't requesting the rights to copy to folder and needs admin approval (even if you run desktop in admin mode it won't request access).

Long story short, just do the copy for the damn launcher and see if that works.

  • It's acutally pretty simple, just clear your cache by clicking the 3 lines on the top left -> Help -> App recovery.

Don't remove the file's already downloaded. But just click on download. It will check the files already there and the game should install fine after that.

  • I had the same issue with battlefield V and 1, i tried this fix just as described and it worked. All i did was follow the same instructions but with the battlefield directory, so i closed the EA client, copied the files and then opened the EA client and it had applied the fix and downloaded another 39gig and it is now installed and working, thanks mate legend!

  • @zanaifin1 Oh man, thank you so much! I just spent, no joke, probably 3 or 4 hours troubleshooting this same issue with Red Alert 2 and had tried EVERYTHING (uninstalling/reinstalling both Origin and EA App, clearing their caches, deleting any hint of RA2 in my windows registry, trying different installation directories, restarting the computer numerous times between any of these aforementioned attempted fixes, removing any hint of anti-virus/windows defender settings, any combination of the above but in administrator mode, the list goes on). I'd about given up (can't tell you how many threads like this I'd already gone through), but your fix was the one thing that did it. LEGENDARY!
