Cannot launch mass effect legendary edition from steam using EA app.

Summarize your bug Cannot launch mass effect legendary edition from steam using EA app. When I try to launch it the EA app opens but the launch never occurs and then the app says that it failed to launch. This is launching directly from steam or by clicking on the desktop icon for the game. There is no option for me to launch from the EA app.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Attempt to launch mass effect legendary edition from steam.
What happens when the bug occurs? The login window appears blank for several seconds and the game does not launch. Steam does not show the game as running and then the EA app shows the message: "Your game failed to launch An error on our end caused your launch to fail. Try again a little later" The game never starts
What do you expect to see? I expect the game to launch so that I can play it

This issue has been going on for months, every month or two I try to launch again and it never works. I did not encounter this issue with origin but we are no longer able to launch with origin.

    EA App was saying that the game is not installed although it was installed via Steam. Was going to give up but then took a look in the registry...Corrected it and restarted the EA App. Afterwards it recognized that the game is installed via Steam and was able to launch the game (works also from the EA App).

    So in such case check your registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BioWare\Mass Effect Legendary Edition

    Hi EA_Shepard,

    Back in May 2023 you said the team was working on a solution to the Mass Effect Legendary Edition failing to launch.

    I just bought the game, and have been working with EA chat support to try to get it to launch. All they have is links to workarounds they found on other forums.

    Has the team made any progress toward a permanent solution in the past 14 months?

    I have the same issue (also having it on Steam since release), although after several minutes of waiting EA app finally pops up this message with EC:10600:

    It seems to be a save sync issue with EA app. At first I thought it has something to do with Onedrive syncing the entire Documents folder which contains MELE saves as well, but it had been doing for years without issue. No idea what has changed in the last couple of weeks to make EA app this finicky.
