Solution is simple:
- Open start menu
- Search for services
- Locate "EABackgroundService"
- Right-click it
- on General tab, you'll see "Startup type:" make it "Automatic"
- Press Ok
- Launch the EAdesktop again
This should work fine
hope I helped
I tried these steps and the EA App still won't work. It was set to manual so I set it to automatic. I kept encountering this issue when trying to launch Battlefield 1, which I can't even do. When I try to launch the game, it goes straight to an error popup that says, "We're sorry, an error has occurred. We are unable to connect to EA servers to Activate Battlefield 1 on this computer using your account. Please try again later."
On the front page of the EA App, there's a big (500) error that says: "Something went wrong. The server encountered a mysterious error. Try again in a little bit." And this is only for Battlefield 1. I tried launching it from Steam (where I bought it) and from the EA app. My other EA games (BF4 and TF|2) launch with no issues.

What worked for me was this: when a popup wanted me to login (I was already logged in, so again I logged off; I tried everything the internet suggested, reinstalling both apps, no linking option available, etc.), I typed my login, and then I clicked "I forgot my password." After creating a new password, everything went straight forward. It's a bug, not a user problem. Now, in my EA account settings, I have EPIC GAMES linked; Epic was not present there before.
