Can't Uninstall a Game

I was trying to uninstall The Sims 4 from the EA app, but every time I click the uninstall button, it does nothing, and the app stays there. I tried to uninstall it from the control panel and Revo, as other posts have suggested, but it still stays there. What do I do, and why is this app so terrible?

  • rosilydiamond156  What happens when you try to uninstall the game with Revo?  If you get an error, I'd be interested to see it.

If Revo simply can't find the game, close the EA App and make sure the EABackgroundService is NOT running in the Task Manager's background processes list.  Delete the Sims 4 folder that contains the game's program files, here by default:

    C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 4

To be clear, this is the Sims 4 folder with subfolders like Data, Delta, and Game.  It is not the folder with saves, Tray files, etc.  However, if your game is installed into Documents > Electronic Arts and is therefore in the same location as your saves and other user data, put aside those subfolders before deleting the Sims 4 folder.  Empty the trash afterwards.

Next, download Piriform's CCleaner (the free version is fine) and use it to remove registry entries and other hidden Sims 4 files.  Restart your computer and, if you want, reinstall Sims 4 through the EA App.

This worked, thank you so much! And to answer your question, it did, in fact, just not show up anywhere, so I wasn't able to uninstall it alternatively.
