Changing game location in EA App

Any one know how to do this ? I know where the downloads point to but existing games in my Library point to an old HDD and I have  moved games to new location.

I cant edit the library path and the browse function within the Library dosent give me a save option.

EA needs to learn from steam where this process took me just a few seconds.

  • @PSIREN666It works as @EA_Illium told you and it is self-tested by me may be you are doing it in the wrong way I know previously in origin automatically detect the downloads in PC. However in the EA app just click the download button for the game which you want to locate and then a Pop up will appear after that select the download location to the folder in which the game is already installed previously after that it starts to download some files and then automatically appears as downloaded.

Hi @PSIREN666 For a default save location you can save your new storage going forward. If you manually moved game installs from one storage to another you might need to select the install option for your games and point to the location they are currently located in the install windows that pop up to have the app see the new location.

  • @EA_Illium There is no Install option. says game already in Library meaning I will have to unistall to reinstall , its a pain but i have copy of all games so couyld copy all over into new location onc3e ini files have been rewritten but this is a very crude sledgehammer to crack a nut solution and is something this new app shoul have as a simple option. Thanks for response.
  • So all options explored. Only way was to reinstasll games afeter deleting games so a new path would appear for me to copy over the original games installation I had.

This App is very poor compared to steams app its a joke. All I wanted to do was transfer my games to new faster storage. Why there isnt an install path  you can edit within the Library is a mystery .

My eternal thanks for EA wasting 5 hours of my life trying to avoid doing this as a solution. Its a good job I pay for unlimited broad band or this would acrue extra costs in bandwidth used not to mention all the extra new storage I installed allowing me to copy everything with all the extras and mods i had set up allowing me to copy everything to enable a simply paste once new path has been set in the app. Others will not be as lucky as me with their set ups storage can be a lmiting factor for many less fortunate than I.
