"Couldn't connect to servers" when trying to check-out on EA app

I've been trying to purchase bundles for The Sims - which I can't do in-game - and EA app would not let me check-out. Every time I click check-out, it takes me to payment information but immediatelly loads "Couldn't connect to servers' page, gives option to restart or go online but immediately loads a new screen saying I'm back online and then redirects me to homepage. It does not matter what I click, it always redirects me to homepage in the end. 

I've tried repairing the app, clearing cache, reinstalling. I've tried to purchase both on wifi and wired connection, with or without VPN, with firewall turned off. When I try to check-out through the EA website, it loads purchase screen, sends bank request but when I confirm the purchase, it does nothing and the purchase doesn't go through. 

Anyone have a similar problem or figured out what to do? Thanks!

    I don't see they customizable bundles on the website, so need to purchase in the app. Guess I'll save my money if it's not fixed.

  • Yes this is happening to me too!!! must be an EA issue. which is odd because their is a sale currently going on...

  • I'm having the same issue and have seen lots of others as well when researching this issue. I tried all the same as the original poster. EA losing money during a sale.
