SimCity for MAC unavailable to download on EA app

Purchased the game from EA website as indicated to be only available via de EA app installed on MAC machine.

When going to the library area to download the game, there is a statement on the bottom with the message "Available on Windows".

Is that false advertising then?

I can purchase the same game using the apple apps method but the price is 70% higher.

What is the issue?

  • NDonis10  The issue is that there is no Mac version of SimCity (2013) available anymore, at least not in the EA App.  SimCity (2013) is a 32-bit application, and current versions of macOS don't run 32-bit apps at all anymore.  The last one to do so was Mojave (10.14).  However, the minimum requirement for the EA App is Catalina (10.15), meaning no Mac that can run the App can also run SimCity.  So it's simply not available.

The only thing you can do here is get a refund.  Since you haven't launched the game, it should be simple to get one automatically using the refund tool described here:

The version of SimCity (2013) sold on the App Store is 64-bit, so it should work on your computer.  But from what I've heard, it doesn't have any online features, just so you know.
