I agree. And it would be one thing if the problem arose and was swiftly dealt with, but EA has left people to figure this out on their own.
I hope so too, and I do have one more solution that you could try.
I wanted to avoid uninstalling and reinstalling DAI if possible, so I thought that I would try installing the EA app in the same directory as DAI, in case that was really causing problems.
The option to choose the install location of the EA app is actually bugged at the moment, however, but someone provided a workaround here that worked just fine for me and I was able to get it to Program Files x86 where DAI is installed. [link]
That on it's own didn't work though, and DAI was still crashing, but I remembered that other people had had success with adding DAI as an exception in their antivirus software/disabling shields temporarily. I did that just now and DAI launched, no problems, and I was able to go into game. Like I mentioned a day or so ago, I had gotten it working once, but it quickly went back to crashing on me so I can't guarantee it won't do that again, but wanted to pass on the information in case it works for you or someone else.
TL;DR, this seems to have worked for me, for now at least
- Uninstall EA App
- Follow the linked instructions to reinstall it in whatever directory your games are currently in
- Go into your anti-virus and add DAI as an exception

@Coraychi Hmm, I tried that, and now the app just says there's a problem with my account and won't let me log in. Haha, if it's not one thing, it's another.
@leiascully42 Ah, there always has to be something. I tried to do some research on that, and reports of it are pretty scattered — the only solutions I've seen that people claim worked was marking the EA App as an exception in your antivirus or disabling your VPN if you're using one. Other than that, it's hard to find much of anything. There was also an instance I found where it was effecting a lot of people at once, and EA fixed something on their end and everyone was able to log in again afterwards.
This one may be worth reaching out to support for if you can bear to deal with them, as I would guess they'd be more equipped to deal with account issues than individual game issues.
Then you should contact EA directly. (Top bar "Contact us") If you are not from the US change the country in the top right corner.

You also could try EAs Support on Twitter or on Facebook.
Let them look at the permissions of your account, if they want you to preform basic troubleshooting point them to this thread say that you already tried that.
- @holger1405 I got back into my app - it didn't even make me sign in again. But then the games library was totally empty - no Dragon Age at all. So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Now it's so broken that it won't open OR uninstall OR repair. Truly amazing. When I try to open it, it just says "connecting" until I force shut it, sometimes for hours. When I try to repair it, it says "something went wrong". When I try to uninstall it, it gets most of the way through the process and then says I don't have enough disk space (I have 250 gb free so that should be enough).
Anyway, I'll contact EA. Thanks for your help! - So I contacted EA and the rep told me to download Origin. Big headdesk moment. I tried it. It immediately popped up the uncloseable "Switch to the EA App!" window. Still can't open the EA App because it says it installed incorrectly, and trying to uninstall or repair both cause errors. The rep said he'd forward it to the higher-ups but I'm not hopeful ☹️
@leiascully42 It sounds like there's a lack of communication going on behind the scenes.
Maybe you should make a thread about your current problem, as the people on the forums have been a lot more helpful than EA it seems.

- @Coraychi People on the forums have been super helpful! But I doubt they can solve my current problem - I've already been thread-hopping. The EA app won't even uninstall when I use the various ways that you can force-uninstall on Windows. The only thing I haven't tried yet is to use a restore point and go back to before I installed the EA app.
- @leiascully42 That's so odd. I had a bit of trouble getting the app to uninstall at one point too - the uninstaller refused to open for some reason. I didn't know what to do, so I deleted the files manually, which made it impossible to open the app, but also lead the installer to think it was already installed. It randomly decided to start working and I was able to reinstall after that, but because I couldn't pinpoint why it did what it did, I can't say I'd recommend it.
Hopefully there's something that EA can do on their end and they're able to roll out a fix for this soon. @CoraychiInteresting. Maybe I'll try that. It couldn't really break anything worse at this point...
EDIT: Nope, still equally broken. 😞 And the system restore failed for some reason. But it was a good thought! The EA rep suggested it too, when I said I couldn't uninstall.
@leiascully42 Ugh, that's a shame, it would've been nice if it had worked! I'm hoping that with all the reports coming in from people having issues, they'll be working on the app and pushing fixes, and maybe what you're experiencing will be among the things they get to. I'll keep an eye out for similar reports too and see if any solutions crop up!
Did the Rep looked over your account permissions? That would be really important. (!)

@holger1405I don't actually know what the rep did. I told him my problems and the solutions I'd tried. He had me reinstall Origin, which of course didn't work. I told him I couldn't open the app or uninstall it and he told me to delete the files manually, which I didn't think would work but tried anyway since it worked for Coryachi. He put me on hold for ten minutes and then came back and said he was pushing the problem up the chain.
EDIT: A tool on the uninstall post worked! Thank you so much! And with a clean install, I was finally able to open DAI. Sweet, sweet game screen, I thought I'd never see you again 🙌
