Thanks for letting us know what you're seeing with Dead Space and EA App, to check would it be possible to go through the following steps if you have not then check if this continues?
- Ensure the installation folder is writable, and no Ati-virus or security software is interfering.
- Ensure you have enough space for the game to fully install
- Run the System File Checker tool then Check for Windows
- Clear EA App's Cache
- If you see the error again, try downloading another game (use Apex if you don't have another) and let the installation get to about 15% to see if the error pops up, if not stop the download and try Dead Space again
If you keep getting the error, would it be possible to get a DxDiag from everyone still running into the error?
Thanks for responding. I have done all of the above. It seems the issue might be related to the cleanup process in the “_Installer” subfolder. Because I can’t even cancel the 99% finished download in EA Desktop unless I manually go into the main game folder and delete the “_Installer” subfolder. Only then can I cancel the paused installation at 99% in EA desktop.
In other words, EA desktop just hangs and saying installation failed even when I try to cancel it when it gets stuck at 99%.

Aight, so, been in a chat with these EA peeps, apparently due to EA's desktop app being in Beta and in it's early days together with Xbox Game Pass, not all games are actually supported on it as of yet, so here only time will fix this issue.

While that’s not great news, I do have to say I appreciate you reaching out personally to their staff. Thanks very much for sharing the info here.

It definitely used to be supported. I downloaded Dead Space several months ago using EA Desktop and it installed and ran just fine. But yesterday I tried to redownload it and now I'm also getting the "The final stages of installation didn’t go as planned" error message. The game downloads all the way to 100% and then fails to finalize the install.

Dead Space is a fantastic game.

I actually installed it yesterday, and it started up and ran fine until I ran into an invisible wall glitch shortly into the first chapter. I uninstalled this morning to try to fix the glitch, deleted the old files, and now I'm getting this same error when trying to redownload. No matter where I try to install or anything.
