Detecting Already Installed Games?

Bought a new computer last month and installed The Sims 4 + SimCity (2013). Had an issue and needed to reinstall Windows 11, which removed the EA App but not the other games (application installed to C drive, games installed to D drive). Just re-installed the app now but it's not reading those games as installed (I've already installed The Sims 2 through the app to the D drive). Is there a way to detect it without having to "install" the games again, especially as I just want to uninstall them?

  • @danielr02  If you only want to uninstall the games, just use Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine).

More generally, there's no way to tell the EA App where your games are installed if it's not finding them on its own.  But you could try starting the download to the same location where the games are currently installed.  In my tests, the App sometimes, but not always, simply verifies the installed games and then finishes the install process rather than downloading all that data again.

  • You can select the download location of the EA app the same folder where you have the games installed.

Or alternatively copy all games to the install folder of the EA app, and then after you select download option for a game, it veryfies the files for a minute or so and then completes the install without having to download many GB-s of data from the net.

Unfortunately I dont have another 130GB free on that ssd, so i could let it verify the files. It's interesting how huge companies can be incompetent.

Came to say the same thing. I have this drive full and it's complete BS I can't just locate the already installed file I have to **bleep** around to move it and clear up space and then do that method.
