Download and install the required update

--Every time I open the new EA App it tells me immediately "Download and install the required update," and below it says "A mandatory update is required to stay online. Restart the EA app to apply the update." But every time I click that pop-up that shows me DOWNLOAD & INSTALL, it closes the app, takes a bit and either asks me to login or goes right back to that first notice to "Download and install the required update."

I'm stuck in this loop and I've tried to do the download it tells me or I even went into my Software Center to uninstall and try reinstalling it but it doesn't even let me uninstall from there. It will say it failed and to retry with the same error of it not able to uninstall itself. I don't know what to do to open the app and play the games considering I was fine play SW Battlefront 2 like two-three weeks ago. Please help Community Managers!

  • @TheStereoTronik  Try using Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine) to remove the EA App.  Make sure the App itself and the EABackgroundService are NOT running in the Task Manager.

  • @puzzlezaddict Thanks for that Revo Uninstaller suggestion, it actually helped! I removed the EA app from that uninstaller and then re-installed the EA app from their website and from there I put the .exe file in the original EA file location and it repaired it which forced me to restart my PC. But once I rebooted it the app repaired and actually installed what was needed so now it seems to work for me to actually navigate the EA app!
