Downloading EA app to external hard drive?
Hi all! Just what it says on the tin. I've seen some people suggest that the only way to do this is to go into the powershell and paste .\EAappInstaller.exe /i DefaultInstallFolder="D:\Games\EA Games" inside, but I can't seem to get this to work and wonder if there is an easier solution.

The EA app installer does not currently provide a supported option for choosing an external installation location. On Windows, the app installs by default to:
C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop
The DefaultInstallFolder PowerShell command you found is an undocumented community workaround. It is not part of the official installation process, so I would not recommend relying on it. We cannot guarantee that app updates, repairs, or reinstalls will continue to work correctly with that configuration.
If your goal is to save space on the internal drive, install the EA app normally and place your games on the external drive instead. When downloading a game, the EA app asks you to confirm its installation location. You can select a folder such as:
D:\EA Games
This moves the substantially larger game installation to the external drive while leaving the EA app itself in its standard location.
Do not manually drag or move the installed EA app folder to another drive, as that will not correctly update its Windows services and installation records.
Also, keep in mind that the external drive must remain connected and available whenever you install, update, repair, or play a game stored on it.
