I've had this probably for like a week now - every time I try to open the EA App, it appears and asks me to log in. When I log in, a screen saying that:
"The App failed to launch. The app couldn't connect to EA's servers. Check your internet connection and try again. If the problem continues, reinstall the app" and then after this the app just disappears leaving a dot underneath the EA App logo on the dock. I've tried to delete and reinstall the app many times, and I've also contacted EA to see if they could help but they told me to wait ... ????
I'm confused because there have been instances where I have been able to open the EA app (only 2 times within this week), but then after quitting it the same problem reoccurs. So I really don't know what is wrong. My Mac is up to date, and there are no problems in terms of internet connections. I do use Kaspersky as an antivirus software and have deactivated it since, but I don't think it's a problem since I've always used it before while playing with the Sims.
I just hope that this problem gets fixed soon, because I have spent so much money on this game and I can't even access it.

@jigirat I've had this same issue. First time around I could get it to open and install then massive issues with downloading anything. I cleared every trace of Origin/EA App from my mac including other users/profiles. Second time around I've not been able to open the app like you described above but out of curiosity tried right clicking the app instead and it worked!
Applications > EA App > Right click > Contents > Applications > EA LauncherHope this helps!
I'm currently watching my games download finally!- 10 months ago
Omg, you're a lifesaver. It finally works!! I've literally tried every other "solution" in all recent threads and nothing worked until this. Someone hire this human to work for EA, they're a genius.

@ashmendes12 I’m glad it worked for you! They wouldn’t want me working for EA I just go around clicking stuff except with common sense so no deleting anything with com.apple when you’re deep diving lol

@smythesbooms It's so weird because last night I tried it and it worked. But today, when I tried it again, the problem is still there. I literally don't know what to do anymore 😭

I’m at that point with my sims 3 games. I was finally able to open and download the game but now stuck in the infamous “cannot download store content” loop. EA really needs to do more extensive play testing before they release mandatory updates

Hi, it does the same thing for me! I can't even open the app, nothing appears, not even a window... What are the solutions? I don't want to lose my saves...
This is ridiculous! How does EA can accept such a thing?? I can't even play the games I spent thousands of dollars on. Everything was fine with Origin, quite buggy, but at least I could play. Why force us to use another app if it doesn't WORK!- 9 months ago@juiceprince I can’t believe it. I’m so mad. Ugh.
- 9 months ago@juiceprince thisssssssss I've lost all my saves because I've been trying the solutions players have come up with, no actual answers from any EA staff for any of these issues with EA App. Hate they made it mandatory!! I even tried removing EA App and reinstalling Origin but it just made me download the new app couldn't get around the pop up that said download EA App.

Hi I found a way to fix the "couldn't connect to EA servers" on the EA app for mac. For me I found that I had to reset the DNS cache. (Basically means data from servers but its outdated so you need to remove it so that ur app can try connect and make new cache)
Go to this website https://support.apple.com/en-ie/101481 and copy the correct terminal prompt and put it into the terminal app (You can find this in applications just search terminal and it should show up its a black app icon with ">_" on the top left hand corner.
Then you copy / type in the prompt and type ur computer password and click enter then try open the EA app again! Its what worked for me and trust me its not that hard to do only a few clicks.
If you're not sure about which terminal command to use look up what version your mac is runnig eg I'm running macOS sonama 14.5 so i used the command for macOS yoesmite and later.
Hope this helps !
