EA app Can't Connect to Servers
I get a problem saying "Couldn't connect to servers" followed by "We ran into a problem, but a quick restart should fix it.". I have tried numerous things, including clearing the EA app's cache files...

every time I try to start up the EA app I get an error, this has been going on for about a week, im stuck and not really sure on what to do as most advice is for windows, I have a Mac.
steps I have tried-
restarting the app, uninstalling it and installing it again, updating my computer to make sure its up to date.
I only use EA to play the sims4, and ive never had problems in the past year of using the app. I uploaded uploaded the error picture below. Im really stuck on what to do.
