ea app damaged or incomplete

Packs/Content: Base Game and the free Holiday Pack

Issue:

I had taken a break form the sims for a while, and planned on playing it today but I got a message saying "You can't open the application "EA app" because it may be damaged or incomplete." I do not know what could have caused the error, as the only sims-related thing I have done was delete in game screenshots as my storage has been wacky. I included as many images I possibly could, but it's no use as for me now. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as Christmas is rapidly approaching and because we are opening some gifts today as our car for the trip will be jam-packed otherwise, and I did add some sims packs to my wish list.
