I have the same problem and I have tried everything and nothing works
I had the same issue and the following worked for me: I checked all the "Microsoft Visual C++..." under "Apps" and choosed "Repair" where it was available. I restarted my computer and then the installation went just fine.

I have made an attempt to do every fix I can find.
I WANT TO PLAY! BUT I CAN"T
How hard is it to turn Origin back on for the rest of the week until you get this darn thing fixed. You are running Origin for the Mac people so you still own the site. PLEASE!

I have tried everything I have been told to do and everything I have read about. At one point I was told that they were working on this problem they would let me know. I not only have not heard back form any of them, but they permanently closed the case file. Has anyone had this problem and found a solution? I am getting desperate.
As of right now I can't use any of my Sims3 or Sims 4 games, I have a small fortune invested in these games.
There has to be a solution to this problem, even if it means letting those of us who can't install the EA app, to be able to download the Origin app so we can get access toour games.
Please someone help me!

@kaspence I think I can speak for everybody here when I say we empathize & sympathize with you. Whether it be gaming software or business, corporate executives are making it okay to drop the ball on their customers & consumers. Tech support is so far removed from the developers, it makes no sense to even pay them for not knowing how anything works. There is no more proper QA (testing), which tech support knows nothing about either. Last I will say is that I've worked hardware & software tech support, as well as ended my career as a software consultant. I had to know what I was doing every step of my career, and was trained very well. The world is changing, and I can't say it's for the better. Definitely not for us on this end of shoddy everything. Integrity, pride, and ownership has been thrown out the window in lieu of profits.
I said all that to say we understand, and I don't think there's a thing this place will do about what is happening with that blasted app. They'd have to introduce QA into a world that throws things out there without having to test it to death. We had to have ours tested in the department, division, company-wide, beta-testers, back to developers and all over again before we could release software to the world. No longer is the case, and there's nobody in between that is accountable for getting it right.
All I can say is, "Sigh." None of this will end well, but greed is the name of their game. Once they have our money, they could care less what happens after that.

I’m having the same problem
I’m running windows 11 through parallels desktop on my MacBook Air.
I’ve had no problems downloading or installing anything else besides the EA app.
i have heaps of storage and space so I know that’s not an issue..

We're running Windows 11 Pro on a new PC, checked the Microsoft C++ settings and none had a repair option to try. EA app still gets stuck at the will not install screen when it's nearly complete. Any other suggestions that we could try?
