EA App keeps crashing EC:105

Product: The EA app
Platform:PC
Error Report ID (learn how to create an Error Report ID in the sticky post)
Which client functionality are you experiencing this bug with? Performance
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 09/07/2023
Summarize your bug After using the EA app for 5 minutes it crashes saying EC:105 and makes me restart
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Use the EA App
What happens when the bug occurs? It makes me restart the app
What do you expect to see? No errors and for the app to run

Every time I use the EA App it works for about 5 minutes and then EC:105 comes up saying the following: "'Something went wrong. Due to the effects of a particularly stubborn issue, you will need to log in again.''

After the error occurs it says: ''Look at that, you're back online. Restart the EA app to access online features.''

Then I restart the app and it happens again in another 5 minutes. I play sims so online isn't needed but it stops me from running downloads and updates. I have an ethernet connection so it's isn't a WIFI issue.

Partner has the same problem but he is trying to play F1 2023 and his game won't work so I think it might be affecting his online connection. He also has an ethernet connection.

We have tried everything we could find online including:

  1. Reinstalling EA App
  2. Clearing cache
  3. Changing DNS
  4. Logging in with username instead of email
  5. Turned of antivirus software

  • having the same issue.

you wouldn't happen to be using a fritzbox modem would you? or be located in newzealand?

ive been having this issue and others: my battle net loosing connection periodically, unable to connect to voice chat in Hell let loose and Overwatch 2.

    ive tried:

wifi and cable for extended tests

    restarting my whole network

disabling QoS and opening my NAT

full format and clean install of windows (from 11 to 10).

    new launcher and game installs

just putting this all here for reference

Tha ks for your reply. Yes we have a Fritz box! I have been wondering if it could be that as it is a terrible modem, but I thought having an ethernet connection would be a work around. I'm going to get a new modem and see if that makes a difference

  • oh wow i think something my be to do with the ol fritz then.

Let us know if a replacement helps

We took our PC to another house this evening and tried it on another network and modem. EA app and all games worked perfectly so we think it's either 2degrees or the Fritz Box. Going to start with contacting 2degrees to see if they can do anything

@elisemargot Thanks for sharing this with the community! I haven't heard of a Fritz Box before is it provided by your ISP?
  • Interesting! That settles it really, its not our pc's.

Ill get onto 2degrees and get he ball rolling aswell.

I have pm'd you as i wanted to share the street im on incase its a local thing. Also left my email cause its a little personal here being a public forum.

I still intend to add the solution here though for any others that come searching.

@EA_Illium yes the fritzbox is the modem supplied by our ISP.

Amazing! Yep the EA App error 105 has stopped happening for me now. My partner still can't play F1 so that must be a different issue that we will keep looking into.
