EA App keeps deleting or uninstalling itself

I am trying to play Mass Effect 2 Legendary Edition, which I bought on Steam. I have to open Steam and open the EA app, then launch the game from Steam, then wait 2 or 3 minutes before the game launches. Next time I try, there is no EA app to launch. This has happened THREE TIMES. But the computer won't let me reinstall EA because it says it is still running. But it does not exist. Extremely frustrating. EA app is the worst in the gaming world, by far.
It really is atrocious
