EA App not opening on D Drive

Hello all. I have just purchased a Windows PC. I am trying to download the EA APP to download the Sims 4 and all my additional DLC. Here are my specs to see what I am working with PC wise:

Device name:  DESKTOP
Processor AMD Ryzen 5 4600G with Radeon Graphics 3.70 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.4 GB usable)
Device ID 4F9E1086-A758-43DA-86A9-7C3E465BD17E
Product ID 00330-80000-00000-AA948
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display

My problem is that I have limited space on my local drive [C Drive] SO when downloading the EA APP and the many additional files that come with it, I downloaded it all to my D drive but when I attempt to open the EADesktop application there is "an unresolvable issue". I am not sure what to do. I have restarted my computer and nothing has worked. Please let me know what I am doing wrong; any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you! Attached is what my D Drive looks like.

  • I realized some more information may be missing so here is some more info: attached is my first "error" message from the EA APP when I try to open it from the D Drive & attached is my second "error" message when I restart the EA APP after the first "error" message.

First Error Message: "Unresolvable Error occurred. Please restart the app."

Second Error Message: "The background services aren't responding, so we're kicking off the update manually...."

If any more information is needed, please let me know. I will be happy to give it!

    Hey @msdaisy22,

It is likely that this issue is being caused by you trying to install the EA app on your D drive. This is unfortunately not possible, as the EA app can only be installed on the C drive.

It is only possible to download/install specific games, that you download via the EA app, on another drive. Not the EA app itself.

  • EA should have left it to steam in 2011. Always with the broken app, not starting games, now using 300mb on my C drive SSD for no reason... THANKS EA. good thing the last game I purchased full price was Battlefield 3, the start of the end.

  • Just tried to install titanfall 2. I have been struggling for over an hour now and i give up. I am just here to vent. This * broken piece of * can't even be installed on chosen drive. WHAT A JOKE. unfortunately i won't be playing the game as it is stuck in PREPARING when i try to install it. Just shut this * down already and move to steam. i pray every day.
