EA app replaced Origin now it wants me to pay to play my purchased game

I have had Sims 4 since 2018, and I played it using Origin. I launched the game yesterday and

it suggested that I install the EA Games app, so I clicked “accept” and it uninstalled Origin and replaced it. Now I can’t play Sims 4, and it’s telling me to pay to play.

When I bought Sims 4 it was meant to be a one-off purchase, but now this new app is preventing me from playing until I pay for an EA membership. I also don’t know if it wiped my saved games, which would really be upsetting as  I spent years perfecting houses.

What can I do to play Sims 4 without additional payments that did not exist previously or was a part of the terms and conditions upon purchase, and how so I load my previously saved game? I have spent 582 hours on this game and I don’t want my progress wiped or become inaccessible due to a newly enforced paid membership.

  • @selenereid I moved your post to the Origin forum as it's not an issue with the game itself.

Check if it works if you reinstall Origin. You can have both next to each other just not run them at the same time.

EA App is still a bit wonky.
  • Hi i had the same problem too this is how you fix it go to the 3 lines in the corner of the ea app go to settings click downloads turn on automatic updates then go offline then go online and all your games should be there hope this helped🙂

  • I searched up where to play sims 4 then EA was the first link I clicked on it downloaded it and then when I went to search up sim 4 it does not come up.
