EA App silently crashes before I can even log in. How do I bypass using the app?
Having a hell of trouble with the EA app just closing (presumably crashing, but it's givine me no error message just literally closes) on me.
It took me about an hour to be able to even log in, as it would just close while I was trying to type my login details, before I had even clicked to log in. Now I'm logged in, but it doesn't even get to loading anything visually on the app before it just closes on me .I have tried running as administrator, uninstalled and reinstalled twice, and have tried to use the app recovery, update, and error report programmes installed alongside the app but all three crash in the same way.
I'm not sure what technical details are needed to advise on the issue as I am not very technologically minded. I'm running windows 10, and this has all been happening within the last 24 hours of me reseting my pc. I can run Steam and Battle.net absolutely fine and was actually playing Overwatch last night with no issues.
Edit: It's now the next day and I am still unable to use the EA app (third day since I reset my PC now). As I have to log in once again, I am once again struggling to even type my email address in before it crashes. Sometimes just clicking on the box to type it in causes it to silent crash.
I have scoured answers HQ and the helpdesk but cannot find anyone with a similar problem. There is no option anywhere on this godforsaken site to contact EA directly. I have tried solutions to similar problems to no avail. The only thing I haven't tried is clearing the app's cache which I can't do because I can't get into the app in the first place.
This is absolutely ludicrous. 95% of the games I play are accessed through the EA app. I have paid good money to be able to play them, but because EA says "oh no you have to go through us if you want to get to the things you own" I am locked out of them what, forever? Until I am able to afford a more up-to-date computer in 10 years time? I'm totally raging.
How do I bypass using the EA app altogether? I won't be using them again to order any further games. I just want to be able to click the game launcher and play rather than go through all these useless third party apps. Miss the days when we actually owned our own games rather than being held hostage by companies who cannot even be bothered to make sure their services work for users.
