EA app uninstalled Origin and deleted all my games

Was looking for something to play so figured I'd try Dragon Age Inquisition in the Epic Games launcher. This promted me to install the EA app which in turn uninstalled my Origin app.

The EA app is sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow, it takes about 1 minute before anything shows up and all my games are gone.

I have 11 games but all are unloaded blocks.

So what do I do now?

  • I searched for dragon age and get this

    Currency is wrong as it always is in every single launcher except for Steam.

    Clicking any of the games I get this. I get this regardless of what I click in the Browse bar. The app simply does not load anything other than "box art" for games.

    Just get a blank screen when I click anything.

    @MadCowCrazy

    If your game library is still showing as empty, please try the following steps to clear this up:

    • Open task manager, locate EA Background Service, and end task
    • Clear the cache for the EA app
    • Check that the EA app is fully updated
    • Run the EA app as an administrator
    • Check for any background applications blocking the EA App

    • Make sure the EA app or other launcher is closed.
    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
    • Type or copy and paste "%ProgramData%
    • Navigate to Electronic Arts\EA Services
    • In the license folder, you can delete all the files

    As these are license files for older titles, you won't lose any progress or data.

    Clear the cache for the EA app, and if the game has the option, repair the game and launch it again.

    If this does not work, try the following:

    1. Go to the Control Panel
    2. Programs and Features
    3. Uninstall EVERY SINGLE Microsoft C++ Redistributable
    4. Download the EA App installer but DON’T RUN YET
    5. go to VC-Redist and download the appropriate architecture of the latest C++
    6. Install the C++ Package
    7. Go to Local Disk/Program Files/ Electronic Arts AND DELETE THE ENTIRE ELECTRONIC ARTS FOLDER
    8. Restart Computer
    9. Install EA App

    i had the exact same issue, i worked not long ago and nothing changed on my pc so EA must have changed something on their end.

    turns out i was using an alternate DNS for my vpn service.  when i changed the DNS to google (8.8.4.4 and/or 8.8.8.8) and did an ipconfig /flushdns, then terminate EABackgroundService, then restart app, everything shows up!  hope this helps someone.
