I have the same problem, in fact it's a kind of window that can be moved but which is buggy.
When the window is moved and then manually maximized, it results in a piece of EA Desktop.

Your link takes to a suggestion to report it which has been done multiple times already and still no one can seem to locate what is causing it. Is there logs I could provide that can help with this.

EA SPORTS FC™ TeamI have the same problem. I also get the massage in the right bottom corner that The EA app is running and has been minimized. No program beside ea desktop is giving this massage, so i thinks this is part of the bug. Only after closing the EA desktop app the massage in the left bottom corner will disappear.
When i open the app (after the app was closed completely) i always need fill in my log in details again. It is just not remembering my login details, the box remember me is checked.
i hope you can do something with this information.
