It's a little out of date - the file paths are different.
The first folder to delete is actually 'EA Desktop' in ProgramData.
As for the second lot of folders to delete, the path is correct this time but the folders still different. I just deleted 'EAConnect_microsoft', 'EADesktop', 'EALaunchHelper' and 'Electronic Arts'. Although really I've just moved them in case I deleted one I shouldn't have.
It seems I have to do it every time I download a game.
Unfortunately that hasn’t done anything for me. It just causes the app to crash over and over without opening up.

If you are having trouble downloading EA Play games, please try the following:
Workaround: Uninstall EA Desktop and allow the Xbox App to install it.
