Are you getting an error message when you try to launch The Sims through the EA App?
Oh I'm sorry, I forgot to specify. The Sims 4 doesn't appear in the EA app at all, I can only start it from Steam and I get an error message.

I'm having the same issue and it's March 2023, are your people ever going to fix this issue? I got Sims 4 for free through Steam and it says I have to launch the EA app to play. When I try, either the EA app doesn't launch at all or it gives me an error message and Sims 4 never launches. I got rid of Origin back in November I think and I can't even play Sims 4, this is so ridiculous.
