As of today (26th of Febuary) it seems like the issue still isn't solved.
Whenever I try playing Fifa 23 or Apex Legends the game seems to crash at random, sometimes even in the menu screen.
Its always the same "device hung error", I've tried every suggested solutions regarding this issue and nothing seems to work.
My pc is close to brand new (abt 4 months old) and has specs that definitely should be enough.
My Geforce 3090 should definitely be enough to handle Fifa or Apex, because it can handle other games perfectly fine (OW2 on max. settings on 300+ fps for example).
Other games or applications I've tried so far seem to work perfectly fine as well. I had no problems with Valorant, Overwatch, Paladins or any other games I played so far.
What may be important to solve this issue is the fact that it doesn't matter weather I start Apex through EA or Steam the issue still occurs.
Loading up the games works perfectly fine as well and I have no issues getting into the games themselves.
Hope this helps!

I had to get a new mobo since my old one was faulty, i had hoped this might fix the fifa crashing too but nah it didnt.

This is still a problem. How is this still a problem after such a long time? What is my incentive to buy another EA published game ever again when all the games constantly crash due to OpenGL or DirectX or "hung error blah blah blah," when no other games I'm launching from Steam or GOG (or anywhere really) have this issue. This is NOT a hardware problem on the client side, this is a software problem on the publisher side. My gaming PC runs circles around PS5 and Series X in terms of raw horsepower.
These are games I've paid full price for that I cannot play. As others have mentioned, none of the suggestions ranging from driver updates to clean install of GPU drivers and everything in between, works. This is not acceptable.- 3 years ago
Update: after months of trying everything, in a hail mary attempt to resolve this issue, I reverted my CPU clock to default. I was overclocking from 3.8 to 4.2. I haven't had a crash since then with about 7 hours of gameplay. This might also work for some of you who are overclocking.
To the admins reading this and passing it off as "issue fixed," it's not. I don't have a power draw issue, because I'm running all other non-EA games with my CPU overclocked without issues, as well as a host of other demanding software that I use for work. Furthermore, I'm playing at native 4k, so the CPU shouldn't even be an issue here.
