Any fixes? This crap started to present problems for me too.
Try this! I finally figured it out as I was lucky enough to get and error from ea play.
Try downloading Visual C++ redistributable from microsoft found here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784
(download and run: vcredist_x64.exe)

Same! I too have this problem, App closes and relaunches and none of the games in EA App doesnt work. It says the game is running, go ahead its a good one, and that's it.
