I was having the same problem with EA Play Beta in windows 10, so I changed back to Origin and voila, the problem was fixed!! I think that, the EA Play app is still buggy.
I continue to get this error "That didn't go as planned" when EA asks me to "Login to play" to my Microsoft account --- to essentially link them together.
1.) They should already be linked together, I've done this last month.
2.) I PURCHASED the game from EA. I am not using PC game pass here. I actually paid full price. I should NOT have to link my Microsoft account to play my game.
3.) Game worked previously. Now that it requires update, it won't let me update. Reason - see above.
4.) I've tried numerous "FIXES" that i saw online. I reset my EA Password. I've uninstalled/reinstalled everything. I deleted all Origin Files. Nothing works.
Please help. I'm extremely frustrated. This isn't the first time the 3 accounts turned me away from using your App.
