EA simply removed BF6 from my account and won’t restore it

I bought Battlefield 6 on the EA App last month during a sale. I usually only buy games on Steam, but since this one required the EA App and I’d heard people were having issues with Steam Link, I thought buying it directly through EA would be better in this case.

That turned out to be a mistake. When I opened the app today to install the game, it was no longer in my library, and the store was prompting me to buy it again.

After three hours with EA support and trying all of their useless troubleshooting steps, I got nowhere. They were able to confirm that I purchased the game (wow), but they weren’t able to restore it to my account!?

I had already accepted that we don’t truly own digital games and that everything is just a license, but this is something else. I believe people call it a scam: I paid for the license and got nothing.

They won’t keep the case open to try to fix the issue, and I can’t even request a chargeback because I used an EA Wallet gift card.

Lesson learned. Just wanted to share that EA scammed another loser today.

  • No, that is exactly what I have been told. I am not that stupid. I bought it on the EA App (ok, maybe I am stupid for spending money on EA), and I am trying to launch on the account I bought the game on, using the EA App. Don't be presumptuous.

If the game was there, EA identified my purchase, it is not on my account anymore, and they won't restore it. What is this? Wasn't it removed from my account? Then I was scammed, you can choose.

    Hi there,

I understand this is frustrating, but what you’re describing isn’t EA removing a game from your account.

If a purchase is confirmed by support, the license is still attached to the EA Account. What you’re seeing is an access or account-related issue, not a loss of ownership.

    A couple of important clarifications:

    • Battlefield 6 does not require the EA app when purchased on Steam -- it launches directly through Steam, though it still uses an EA Account in the background.
    • Games purchased on one platform (EA app vs Steam) are separate entitlements, so they won’t automatically appear across both libraries.
    • There have also been cases where players see “buy again” or missing content messages due to the app not correctly recognizing access, even when the game is owned.

So this situation doesn’t indicate that anything was taken from your account.

What this likely comes down to is one of the following:

    • Signed into a different EA Account than the one used for the purchase
    • Platform mismatch (EA app purchase vs Steam expectations)
    • Entitlement is not displaying correctly in the client

These are all account-specific issues, and that’s the key point:

👉 The forums can’t access or fix account data, purchases, or entitlements.

    What you need to do

Please contact EA Help directly so they can review your account securely and restore access if needed: https://help.ea.com.

    Make sure to include:

    • Proof of purchase (order ID / receipt)
    • The email address used for the EA Account
    • Confirmation of where the game was purchased (EA app vs Steam)

I get why this feels like something was taken away -- but based on what you’ve described, this is a visibility or account issue, not a revoked license.
