Especially if the service is turned off in the EA app for Mac settings, it's weird that it's still somehow active for you and using (a remarkable amount of) resources.

Activity Monitor shows one background process running on my user sitting at a steady 0.2% CPU and a second one running as root(!?!?) with a steady 0.3%
