I tried uodating BF2042 but I received the attached error message.
I gave administrator rights to all .exe files in the ea app folder.
Still cannot update
Same problem, probably related to the antivirus or firewall. I solved it, re installing the game in another directory other that Programfiles*****. And in the new install it doesnt need to update,

Community ManagerAfter many attempts, I noticed that Bitdefender recognised a file as suspicious or possibly dangerous. Somehow, even after excluding the installation folder from virus scanning, the folder was inaccessible in terms of updating the game and the ea app kept repeating the same error message. That said, I tried to install the game in a different location. That did the trick.
TL;DR: Antivirus locked the installation folder and finally I installed it in a different location.
The suspicious file was "BF2042.exe_DiP_Staged".
