Same error for me with Battlefield 1. Tried verifying files, go to Menu -> Help -> App recovery and reboot.
//Edit: solution for me here: Failed to launch game - error on our end | EA Forums - 12494514
Do you own the game or are you trying to play it as part of ea play?

I recently bought the game so I own it and I’ve never been able to launch it.

I've also been struggling with EA app the past 4 days. Problems started after BF6 Open Beta, then i was unable to launch BF2042 after that. I went thru 6 EA support technicians, and nothing works to fix this. Now it only says Failed to launch the game. And for all other older EA games i get this message: "Game license is invalid, the app couldn't read the game's license file, so we suggest relaunching the game in online mode. If the problem continues, try clearing your cache."
Everything has been cleared, reinstalled, clean reboot, nothing works. Support tells me to just wait another 3-5 days, and maybe it will work again.- DaJB-DeathEGG12 hours agoNewcomer

I own it on Steam, which redirects me to the EA app and still gives the same failed error.
//edit: Tried uninstalling and installing just now. But that also didn't fix it.
//edit: Solution for me: close RivaTuner Statistics Server (RTSS). Be 100% sure it isn't running any more by checking the process list for RTSS.exe. Or set "Application Detection level" to "none" in RTSS for bf1.exe. Months ago it worked fine together, now not any more. 🤷
