[FIXED] Game Installation & Download Directory Unchangeable Since January 2024

please help, I have been struggling for 3 years to try and download Sims 4 to an external drive that I spent loads of money on due to lack of storage on my C drive. I’ve watched so many videos and read so many threads, but I can’t figure it out. It’s a completely empty drive, I have 1.81TB available. When I follow all the threads and videos, it says to make new file paths and stuff, and I do, but then I select it as a dowload path for the sims and it just says I don’t have the space available on my EMPTY drive with more then enough space. Everytime I attempt this, I end up in tears, but I’ve spent so much money over the years on my sims for expansions and stuff. To clarify again, I’m not trying to MOVE my current game or mods, cause I deleted all of it to start fresh. I’m trying to install from scratch. I also just gave up on Origin and downloaded EA, I’m not sure if that was the move or not? Please help, I’m so distraught.
