[Fixed] Games are stucking in a download loop (_DIP_Staged)
I had a problem where I couldn't download any of the EA games with their launcher. Every time it reached almost 100 percent, it would start the download all over again.
I tried everything. Clearing the cache, deleting remaining registry keys, deleting everything in AppData, reinstalling, moving the download directory, changing Windows security settings, I even set full permissions for everyone on the download directory and checked Windows Firewall, but nothing helped.
I noticed that every time I clicked on download, it copied a bunch of _DIP_Staged files to the game directory. These are supposed to be temporary files that serve as placeholders for the real files and are then automatically deleted/replaced. BUT THEY DON'T. And that's probably why I was stuck in the download loop.
SOLUTION:
1. Download a game of your choice.
2. Copy the game directory somewhere else and rename it.
3. Download my file eadlfix.txt (EADonwLoadFIX).
4. Start Powershell ISE as an administrator.
5. Copy the script into Powershell ISE.
6. Adjust the path and run it!
When you start EA, you should see that your game has been recognized, but it still needs an update. Do that, and then you can play.
Just as a criticism.
I quit EA three months ago precisely because of this problem, hoping that EA would fix it with a major update, but THEY COULDN'T! What I find even more embarrassing is that the problem has been known for several years and it wasn't the EA developers who helped the people!
