@AkaliJhomenTethi Have you uninstalled and reinstalled Sims 4 yet? If not, I'd suggest doing a clean uninstall with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine), like this:
- Put aside your Sims 4 folder in Documents\Electronic Arts and rename it to something that doesn't include the words "Sims 4."
- Download Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine) from here.
- Launch Revo, select Sims 4 from the list, and click Uninstall.
- Once the game is uninstalled, select "Moderate" under "scanning modes," and click Scan.
- Review the list, in case there's something you want to save; otherwise, click Select All, and then Delete.
- Close Revo, and restart your computer.
Uninstall the EA App with Revo as well. I don't have instructions for that at the moment, but the process should be straightforward. Restart again when you're done.
Install the EA App, then create a new folder into which you'll install Sims 4. The folder should be on the root level of the drive of your choice, for example C:\Games is fine, but not C:\Program Files\Games. This new folder is important because it's possible the folder where you've previously installed Sims 4 is corrupted or has borked permissions.
If you use a third-party antivirus, make sure you've set exceptions for EADesktop.exe and TS4_x64.exe.
Yes I have reinstalled the game and everything worked. But that was never the point. I have had to reinstall game after the two most recent larger game updates. If this becomes a habit, I'll just stay offline to avoid updates altogether. I will keep the Revo uninstaller in mind, if this happens again. But I would think that if one of the folders was corrupted I would still have issues, since via the normal reinstallation most folders are kept intact as I noticed.
Ideal case is future updates run clean. But in case they're not, thanks for the hint ✌️
