@rogansvettenfeim Please try manually updating the EA App, which doesn't always register that it needs to update on its own. Go here:
C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop
and launch the EAUpdater.exe. Then run the App Recovery tool again:
https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
Restart your computer, and see whether you can play Sims 4.
If this doesn't help, please test a different network, if you can. For example, if your computer supports wifi, you can set your phone as a mobile hotspot, using data rather than your home network, and connect to that. Simply loading the EA App and trying to launch Sims 4 shouldn't use much data.
CM edit: just sharing the link here to the old/closed thread about this issue.

I did everything you said, I updated the EA App using the EA Updater.exe, Cleared the cache a second time using the App Recovery tool, restarted my computer and even connected to a hotspot on my phone. All of which did nothing. I still got the "Game License is Invalid" error and I still get the "500 Something went wrong" error when I click on the addons tab. I'm connecting to the app just fine and my internet speeds are great.

When I updated my EA App with the updater.exe it updated to version 13.173 and I still get all of these errors that prevent me from playing the game.
