what about the hosts file
I can't be 100% sure myself but I'm not willing to undo it to see what it does.
I tried to block the connection 127.0.0.1 api1.origin.com and it worked realy. But only one time. And after closing the game the PopUp appeared again. After i tried to block it again the popup was still there.
May you found a other solution to disable the PopUp ?
I tried with the software " proxifier " deactivate connections but without any success. Maybe you can do it better.

@TrueMatrix did you restart origin? (close it via notifications and stop background services)
because my origin after launching a game still doesn't have the popup. (which means I'm probably not going to do further tests)
@DragonGoonster interesting...
if you've indeed relaunched origin after closing all origin processes than it could mean that the latest version of origin may use a diffent pathway for the popup
my version 10.5.118.52644 doesn't show the popup
https://origin-a.akamaihd.net/Origin-Client-Download/origin/live/OriginUpdate_10_5_118_52644.zip
ALSO another thing to note is that in my case I did also restore the origin data folders to BEFORE the popup appeared (and blocked the api address before attempting to launch). So maybe there's something there that flags the popup to appear even if it can't connect to the web address to check for it.
it had been a shot in the dark to perhaps get ea app to reinstall correctly?, and it still seems the popup is a browser page of sorts...
If anyone's origin can sign in offline (after quitting it fully and closing background service) without showing an error page, does the popup still show then?
If it still does with your whole pc offline and without origin services running. Then there's also something in the files for the popup to show, and no amount of blocking will remove the popup from showing, but may stop it if you can revert to a state where it hadn't shown.
- 2 years ago@speedracer523 i did it the popup doesn't appear thank you. But the next issue i have is, that the games not loading/showing on Origin.
Origin is running.
api is blocked
Origin webhelperservice not running.
whats the next step i have to do, to load the game library ?
any idea ?- 2 years ago
how big is your library
I only have 5 games in mine (so hardly a 'typical' user with many missing games in the EA APP) and whatever it is in my case, they do show.
You could try restarting origin.
I assume the popup showed before for you?
you could try undoing the api block and letting origin load the games entries to your cache before blocking it and launching origin again after quiting.
if your origin says something has gone wrong or is blank. Then your origin may be offline.
if you're trying to block the api, it should only be api1 subsite blocked.
but if you unblock it and don't run the origin web helper service and the popup doesn't show, then it would be the web helper bringing the popup.
NOTE: Either way, the popup has a delayed response and you could actually click to your game libary before it stops you doing anything else. So I still believe that it's being deliver from an address somewhere through either the origin service or client itself.

Thanks, @TrueMatrix, I'll give it a try. Sounds like version 10.5.11 may be the answer. I'll also try not using the "keep me signed in" which I was using. I still think someone from Origin or EA owes us a version that works so we don't have to do all of this garbage.

the installer is just going to install the latest origin version anyway
