Any option at all to rollback to the Origin client? I launch all my games via desktop shortcut and as a result I don't want your new client popping up every time I try to launch something. No options for this in any settings I am aware of either. When I want to play something I want to launch the game and get into it immediately. I don't want to click down your application every single time. I just want to play Battlefield. For being "more lightweight" it sure is far more noticeable than I want it to be.
Yet another addition. EA app appears to run a background program when your computer starts now. Naturally I manually close this, because what business does it have on my computer when I am not using its services or playing a game? I make my third attempt to play Battlefield 4. I get what is on the attached image. I click OK. A CMD window tells me EA App is already updated and that I will close. Trying to launch it again repeats the process. Overall, I still don't think EA App has been much of an upgrade.

Someone ended up contacting EA Help and they gave them a link to the Origin Legacy or so they say.

Problem is....I can get the older version of Origin client but, even if you uncheck all the boxes for options like automatic updates, it still updates the client while installing it. And, even if you disconnect from internet, it'll still update the client when you have to log into your Origin account.....because you have to do that for the first run of the Origin client or it won't launch. Once it's launched, you can go into 'Offline mode' but, by then it's too late cuz the client downloads that stupid update that locks the client up. There's no way around it that I can find.

Also, just an update for everyone, I contacted customer support......told them I needed my Origin client unlocked because of that stupid update. Their response was, I just need to install the EA App. Well, you can bet I responded not so nicely. And, I told them I didn't want that garbage crap of a client....just a new update to unlock the one I already have that just worked fine till now. No response back from them. So, I'm boycotting EA Games from now on. I'll never buy another EA Game unless they fix their crap and stop hijacking our games / clients.

I just noticed "EA Background Service" that is not even visible to msconfig or Task Manager Startup.
WTH, EA? Trojan Virus, much?
Strike 2, EA.....

Seems like it should only be running when the EA App is. And the EA App did appear in the Startup tab enabled in Task Manager after a reboot.
