I got my Fifa 23 working with origin like this (only tested offline and with Live Editor):
- Downloaded Origin version 10.5.104 from here: Ältere Versionen von Origin (Windows) | Uptodown
- Then i started Origin, no pop-up
- Opened live editor
- Launched fifa 23 from my library on Origin, then steam will start to donwload the ea app, closed it (2 times)
- in Origin a pop-up will apear saying something about not sincronyzing, just click in play it anyway.
- then my fifa 23 works.
P.S.: I play with live editor, so i open live editor before lauching in Origin, then live editor will detect fifa 23 running and inject automatically.
Has been a few days and no problems yet, but i have to do the same process every time.
I found a solution, sort of.
I linked my EA account to Xbox account and joined XBOX Game Pass for $1 for a month, that enabled me to download and launch all EA games via XBOX app, yes XBOX app works unlike EA !
It's a work around for now anyway .....

Interesting to see that access can be regained via XBOX Game Pass, well done.
Although having to pay a subscription to do so, is not going to be an acceptable workaround for many, who were otherwise happily managing with what they had already paid for, and in full. That being the Contractual basis upon which the Software was originally purchased, i.e. it was not on a Subscription basis.
Not knocking the attempt, just stating that many, myself included, absolutely detest anything that relies upon a Subscription, and will avoid any Software that demands this, full stop.
Another word of caution is to stress that people need to be very careful downloading things like older Origin Applications from non-official sources, as that can be a fast way to download something else nasty along with it. That is just a fact that many are not aware of, and is how things like Root Kits get circulated.
I am absolutely not saying this to support the official download sites, they are just safer from a virus and trojan perspective.

I have to agree with MayPanDay that it is very risky to start downloading old versions from unknown sources and, while I tried several and scanned them, the time has come to cut bait and wait for an updated version from Origin or EA if it ever comes. It also leaves a bad taste in my mouth to have to pay for something that I already bought but I would rather pay for an Xbox subscription than for an EA subscription.

Another way to trick the Origin client is to adjust the date in Windows back to January, this works for me and the EA upgrade doesnt pop-up.
Origin needs to be restarted after the date adjustment and you might have problems with browsing and other stuff -use carefully and remember to adjust back.
Titanfall 2 is not working on EA app so this is the only way I can play the game, hopefully EA will fix the EA app to work with all their games.
Brooooo!! Thanks for this. I can finally play NFS Unbound in offline mode now from steam. So pissed yesterday can't find any fix. This EA App needs to be canceled.
