same thing with sims 3.
I was somehow able to get the launcher to finally come up, I havent seen the sims 3 launcher since I started getting the ea app error that its an issue on their end. with ea app and origin installed I am able to prevent ea app from being the default by moving the sims 3 folder out of the ea folder into program files/electronic arts and deleting some files that appear to link origin and ea app (though im not sure how effective that is tbh, i still get the pop up in origin but it is slower). now when the launcher opens it says "origin is required" error. I was trying to add the host file edit, but i agree with the user that i dont necessarily want to change my pc configuration if I know thats not the issue, so i may only try that if i have more guidance from my fiance later. the uptodown download files appear to be all the online origin download so i am not sure how to keep the older version once its installing. this is some bs, origin is still working for mac users correct?

@Jamo3194 the only way to keep old origin versions is to stop origin from checking for updates
it doesn't stop you logging in, but I don't know frosty mod launcher will still work unlike in the case of modifing the origin files itself
you'd have to manually download the origin version from where it's stored on akamaihd and replace all the files with their previous versions in your origin install location
